Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of every app published by David Levine Digital (“we”, “us”) and this website (davidlevinedigital.com). By downloading, accessing or using any of our apps or this site, you agree to these Terms. One set of Terms covers the whole family of apps.

What our apps are

Each app is a focused utility that does one job — see the app-by-app notes below for what each one does. Each is independent software, built by David Levine Digital, and unless stated otherwise is not an official product of any brand, platform or organisation it may refer to.

Licence to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use each app for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the rules of the App Store from which you downloaded it.

Acceptable use

• Don't misuse an app, attempt to disrupt it, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
• Don't use an app to harvest or scrape third-party services beyond the behaviour described in our Privacy Policy, or otherwise in breach of those services' own terms.
• Only share, paste or import content you have the right to use for your own personal purposes.

Content and accuracy

Where an app generates or displays content from things you provide, or from a public data source, that content is produced automatically and may be incomplete or incorrect. Always use your own judgement, particularly around anything safety-related (for example, allergens, food safety or cooking times). We don't guarantee that any generated content is accurate, safe or fit for a particular purpose.

Purchases and subscriptions

Some features in our apps may be sold through Apple In‑App Purchase. Typical options, where offered, are monthly and annual auto‑renewable subscriptions. Exposure Plus is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Level It, when a paid unlock is offered, is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. The exact title, length, price and what you get are shown in the app and on the App Store product page before you buy. Prices are set in App Store Connect and charged in your local currency by Apple.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto‑renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage the subscription and turn off auto‑renew in your Apple ID account settings (on iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Any unused portion of a free trial, if one is offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Billing, taxes, refunds and cancellation of the Apple payment are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. If you need a restore after reinstalling or changing device, use Restore Purchases in the app. A subscription bought in one of our apps applies to that app (and that app on your other Apple devices where it is available). It does not automatically cover a different app in this family unless we say so in that app before you buy.

These Terms, together with Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, apply to the paid service. If there is a conflict about how Apple takes payment, Apple’s terms for In‑App Purchase take precedence.

Privacy

How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using an app, you also acknowledge that policy.

Intellectual property

Each app's name, logo and design are the intellectual property of David Levine Digital (or used under licence). Third-party names and marks mentioned anywhere belong to their respective owners and are used only for factual identification where needed.

Disclaimer

Our apps and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of an app or reliance on anything it generates or displays. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that can't be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

App-by-app notes

Everything above applies to every app. The notes below cover anything specific to a particular app.

Cook This Tonight

A utility that turns recipe content you provide into a readable cook sheet. When you paste or share a link, it may use that page’s public preview only — it does not scrape private or logged-in content. Paywalled pages may be saved as a bookmark to open the original. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any recipe publisher. You're responsible for using recipe content in line with those services' own terms.

Get This

A standalone shopping list. Add items yourself, check them off in the shop, or ask Siri. You can type shelf prices and set an optional trip budget for free. Get This Plus (sold separately from Cook This Tonight Plus) unlocks sharing the list, usuals you buy every shop, scanning a shelf price tag with the camera, and keeping a copy in your own iCloud. It also works alongside Cook This Tonight, but you don't need both apps to use either one.

The Second Tier

An unofficial, independent app covering Championship football. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any football league or club, and fixture, result and table data is provided for general information only.

Tape a Note

A utility for recording a short title and a note on iPhone or Apple Watch, then storing the audio and transcript on this device. Transcripts and translations may be incomplete. Tape a Note Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription: a copy in your own iCloud, and translation of a transcript using Apple Translation on the phone. It is not Voice Memos, Apple Notes, or an official Apple product.

Expose

A photographic light meter. Free gives the exposure reading for the scene in front of the camera. Exposure Plus is a separate one-off purchase, not a subscription, for the padlocks on shutter, aperture, and ISO, colour temperature, a gray-card reading, calibration against another meter, holding a reading, and zoom. Readings stay on the iPhone. It is not a product of any camera maker.

Level It

A spirit level for iPhone and iPad. It shows tilt on an edge, or a bullseye when the device is laid flat. The reading stays on the device. If a paid unlock is offered, it is a one-off purchase through Apple, not a subscription.
